Bespoke Celtic Pleat Diamond Engagement Ring
Our customer initially visited the gallery to view our Celtic Diamond Pleat Ring. He liked the design, however had some customization ideas for a highly unique, one-of-a-kind bespoke version. Customization considerations reflected his partners lifestyle and career.
Design Process
We designed the ring together over several months, we communicated via e-mail, exchanging revised images, it was a collaborative process, his artwork was wonderful and very detailed.
The setting was the main feature of the design process, our customer requested a shallow depth with a flush surface, he also requested that the pleat panels flow symmetrical into the central diamond, we went through many variations until the design was finalized.
Materials
We sourced a certified oval lab grown, 30 pointer, the Engagement Ring was cast in 9 ct Yellow Gold.
Hallmarking
The ring was hallmarked at the Edinburgh Assay Office, with our sponsor stamp, the metal mark and the Edinburgh Assay Office’s hallmark and castle logo.
Lab Grown Diamonds vs Natural Diamonds
Customers often ask the difference between lab grown and natural diamonds. The are chemically identical. Lab grown diamonds are created in a lab and natural diamond are mined. Lab grown diamonds are generally very high spec and lower in price. We offer most sizes and specification upon request for bespoke designs. This ring was challenging to design and make due to the overall construction. The flowing shallow chunkier setting was also quite tricky to build with the fine detailed pleat pattern on either side. Throughout the design process, careful consideration was taken into the overall construction, casting process and finishing process.
Final Design
The final design looked spectacular! I think it is one of the most beautiful rings we have ever created. Thank you to our customer for his vision and wonderful artwork!
